Abstract: | Beach recreation value is an important consideration in a cost-benefit analysis of coastal development or conservation. A destination choice-based travel cost analysis is often used to quantify recreation values but the destination choice only partially reflects the intrinsic characteristics of that site. Visitors are influenced by opportunities available at other sites and can visit multiple sites resulting in spatially correlated errors. For this study about the recreation value of beaches on the Coromandel Peninsula we draw on the theory of cumulative attraction to analyse the compatibility of different beaches for the multiple-destination visitors who comprise more than half our sample. We investigate different random utility model formulations to explain destination choice and find that a cross-nested logit with sites nested by availability of amenities explains the observed patterns of visitation well and is more computationally efficient that non-closed-form models such as mixed logit. We also include inverse distance variables to the nearest amenity of each type and their significance supports the tenet of cumulative attraction that the importance of other spaces is greater when the attributes differ. Overall beach recreation values are maximised when sites are diverse in terms of development level and type. |

Abstract: | The aim of this study is to investigate the gap of event management in East and South Asia’s casinos throughout the information provided by casinos on their websites. Main objective is to identify the differences and similarities of event holding in East and South Asia’s casinos and suggest future directions for casino managers and event organizers. Four research questions were developed to provide ourselves a goal, as well as to further our understanding of our investigation. There are two steps to structure our study. First is to evaluate the performance of 138 casino’s websites, which were obtained from worldcasinodirectory. com by using a website evaluation tool that we have constructed. In the second step, we conduct a content analysis for the website so we can identify what kind of events are organized in the area on our samples. The data of the content analysis provides a comparison of events in our sampling, such as the event’s size, type, and frequency of holding an event. We believe that our research would contribute to event organizers and large scale corporations to give them an insight on the overall efficiency of websites, as well as the frequency of events around East and South Asian casinos. |

Abstract: | Nowadays, the relationships among wine tourism and environmental and economic sustainability has gained an outstanding importance on the supply side because of changes in wine visits’ demand and behaviour. This paper aims to better understand the model which explains the number of wine visits wherever product and landscape management are considered key factors for the wine tourism development of the Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco PDO. In order to assess the research questions, we used the method of instrumental variables (IV), applied through the Two-Stages Least Squares (TSLS) procedure for evaluating wineries sustainability’s policies towards winery visits. Results showed how in the case of the Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco PDO’s wineries, evidence-based strategies on product and landscape sustainability policies should be taken into account when managing more effective visits experiences. |
