Abstract: We build a model with non-governmental organizations competing through fundraising for donations and choosing their project types. Donors’ willingness to give differs across project types. Each NGO chooses whether to compete in the larger donation market or to monopolize the smaller one. The resulting equilibrium configuration crucially depends on the asymmetry in potential donation market size and on donors’ perceived substitutability or complementarity between giving to two different projects. We analyze the welfare properties of the decentralized equilibrum and characterize the conditions under which such equilibrium is inefficient. We also develop a variant of the model with inter-temporal choices of NGOs, analyze settings where NGOs can coordinate their fundraising activities and/or project type choices, extend the model to allow for spillovers between NGO fundraising activities, and illustrate the mechanisms of the model with several case studies.

Abstract: The purpose of this article is to trace in the first place an argued history of the major projects and projects of reform of Moroccan higher education. Then trying to draw up a targeted description of the mechanisms of governance in the different levels of decision-making highlighted in this same department, with the aim of providing elements of answer to the following question: Multi-project management in the Moroccan university, does it represent a strategic choice or a managerial reality?

Abstract: Open innovation has become a major topic in innovation management. Research however has mostly focused on large companies, in the area of inbound open innovation, on the technological scope or industrial protection. The topic of outbound open innovation, the processes implemented and the management practices deployed in SMEs have been less well investigated. This article aims to go some way towards filling this gap. A collaborative longitudinal case study was carried out by a researcher and two practitioners in a robotics SME. The results show the impact, mainly positive, of open innovation on the company. The functions of technological gatekeeper and “innovation project promoter”, created while the open innovation process was being established, are illustrated through the examples of previous collaborative projects and a current major research European project applied to robotics in which the company is involved.

Abstract: Environmental management has not received the attention that it deserves in the case of the hotel industry in Sri Lanka although sustainable growth in the industry requires consideration of such practices. Our study assesses the adoption of good environmental management practices in the Sri Lankan hotel industry, focusing on energy, water, solid waste and waste water management. The study is based on data from 78 registered hotels in the Western Province of Sri Lanka. We obtained primary data on the environmental management practices using a pretested structured questionnaire. In addition to the cross-sectional data, we collected panel data on electricity consumption from these hotels for 2009-2013. The results show that the highest number of practices, 3.7 on average, adopted by hotels is in energy management. The average number of water management practices is 2.6. Low adoption rates are observed for waste water and solid waste management practices. The results from Poisson and Probit regression models show that the hotel characteristics and customer characteristics are significant determinants of the adoption of good practices with large hotels, chain-affiliated hotels and classified hotels more likely to adopt them. Analysis of electricity consumption shows that the occupancy rate and involvement of the hotels in environment management projects lead to a reduction in electricity consumption. From a policy perspective, small hotels, independent hotels, and unclassified hotels need to be motivated to adopt good environmental management practices through training, capacity building and financial support.

Abstract: The paper analyzes the features of creating project consortiums as a new organizational and managerial form of conquering niches in the global markets for science-intensive goods and services. The foreign experience and approaches of some countries (USA, China, Finland, Germany) to the creation of project consortiums have been studied, the theoretical preconditions for their formation have been examined, and the main characteristics of this form of capture of international high-tech markets are shown. Based on the example of genetic reprogramming technologies, a practical model for accelerating the life cycle of innovation is shown. The article carries out a comparative analysis of the development of this scientific and technological direction in the industrial-developed countries and Russia. It was suggested that there may be a need for a revision of the domestic approach to the formation of project consortium based on Selection of centers of excellence
