Abstract: | Voice data transmission is an important revenue source for mobile communications operators. VoLTE is the technology driver of the growth for 4G LTE voice data transmission. The first wave of VoLTE-enabled devices became commercially available between 2014 and 2016. To understand the global development of VoLTE technology, this study examines VoLTE patent portfolios and identifies area for VoLTE patent applications and commercialization. We recommend that mobile communications companies establish a competitive advantage with VoLTE technology leadership prior to the year 2018. All manufacturers should act expeditiously to develop patent protection for the next generation of voice communications technology. This research provides mobile-telecom service providers, mobile network operators, and terminal equipment manufacturers with an understanding of the VoLTE technology frontier and the competitive status of emerging innovations. |

Abstract: | The relationship between efficient payment instruments and enforcement constraints is studied in the context of economic development. Using a novel enterprise survey from Kenya, we document a strong positive association between the use of mobile money as a method to pay suppliers and access to trade credit. We propose a dynamic general equilibrium model with heterogeneous entrepreneurs, limited financial commitment and the risk of theft to account for this empirical pattern. Mobile money dominates fiat money as a medium of exchange in its capacity to avoid theft, but it comes with electronic transaction costs. The interaction between risk of theft and limited enforcement of trade credit contracts generates demand for mobile money as a payment method with suppliers. The use of mobile money in turn reinforces valuation of trade credit contracts and relaxes enforcement constraints. Calibrating the stationary equilibrium of the model to match a set of moments in Kenyan enterprise data, the importance of the endogenous interactions between mobile money and trade credit on entrepreneurial performance and macroeconomic development is investigated. |

Abstract: | Although according to the 2015 OECD survey South Korea ranks number one in broadband internet service in the world, the rural areas in South Korea still lack the enough internet infrastructure to access the national backbone network effectively. Because of the economic feasibility the internet service providers are reluctant to install the broadband internet for the rural areas where less than 50 households live. Recently South Korea has invested lots of efforts to provide broadband access to the rural areas to overcome the digital divide. In this research, to evaluate the performance of broadband internet service for rural areas in South Korea we develop the empirical model based on the information systems success model. Then, we collect the questionnaires from the subscribers who have used the broadband internet service since 2013. Finally, the structural equation model validates the causal relationship between system and/or service quality and performance. The major findings and suggestion for further research will be discussed in the conference in details. |

Abstract: | The more and more people tend to use the Internet and web tools because of the developing technology and Internet. One of the most important of these tools is social media, a new virtual media that users express themselves and connected with other users. This new media results in the new marketing approach that called as social media marketing and based on interactive participation of consumers. Social media content created by the user or firm has impact on the purchasing decisions of consumers. Therefore, the quantity of spoken and what is spoken about product/service in social media becomes important for firms as well as consumers. Since tourism sector offered the intangible services to consumer, in tourism sector it is important to have social media with quality of visual contents for traveler to have a positive impact before their trip. For that reason, the key objectives of the paper are to examine the application of hotel firms in Instagram that photo-based social media tool and to analyze whether is there any difference or not in photo preferences of a chain hotel operating in different regions. The official Instagram accounts and postings of International Chain Hotels Rixos Group between 20-30 April 2016 was examined by using visual content analysis technique. In this context, chi-square test was performed to reveal the relationship between posting numbers, follower number, followed user number, average number of like and average number of comment of hotels operating under Rixos Hotel Chain and operating in Turkey and abroad. There is a statistically significant difference between F&B and hotel services themed photos according to Kruskal-Wallis test that performed to reveal the differences between posted photos’ themes that posted by Rixos Hotels operating in Turkey and abroad. |

Abstract: | En este documento presentamos una radiografía sobre el uso del efectivo y de las tarjetas débito y crédito en Colombia, haciendo énfasis en la evolución histórica de su utilización. También se discuten algunos factores que explican el alto uso del efectivo que persiste en el país. Adicionalmente, haciendo uso del primer Estudio de Demanda de Banca de las Oportunidades (2015), realizamos un ejercicio probabilístico para identificar los principales determinantes de la demanda de cuentas de depósito y de crédito por parte de los hogares colombianos.
