Abstract: The sports order is formed, including a huge network of various institutions, organizations and regulators, cooperation and participation of public and private entities at various levels, and has its own judicial system, which is based on the International Court of Arbitration for Sport in Lausanne. It is the autonomy of the sports law and order that presupposes the existence of a system of jurisdictional bodies whose activities are aimed at considering disputes in the relevant sphere of relations. At the same time, despite the integrity of the system of sports law and order in relation to public law and order, the internal organizational unity, in particular, the process of resolving disputes in sports relations is quite unbalanced. In the vast majority of cases, the main aspect of the federation is the development of professional sports as such. At the same time, the issues of more detailed legal regulation of relations in the field of professional sports, their protection remain undisclosed, or disclosed in fragments. The above indicates the need for clearer legal regulation of activities in the field of professional sports, in particular in terms of issues raised. In this regard, the observance of two conditions is disputable: Firstly, the possibility of exercising the public organization's powers to regulate the professional sphere. Secondly, ensuring objectivity and impartiality in the consideration of disputes, the outcome of which also affects the interests of the federation as a subject of relations in the field of professional sports.

Abstract: We analyse whether the creation of the eurozone and the euro crisis had an effect on the sportive performance of professional football teams in European nations. We find a significantly positive sign of membership in the eurozone on UEFA points. However, this positive finding is not robust over time and disappears in models with more covariates. It is probably a size effect but at least the adoption of the euro brought no disadvantages in football.

Abstract: This paper examines using text analysis what attitude the Japanese news media took toward the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games. It explores whether there is a difference in tones among the Japanese major newspaper articles. The newspapers analyzed here are the morning editions of Asahi Shimbun, Mainichi Shimbun, and Yomiuri Shimbun, three top-selling newspapers in Japan. This study utilizes the list of semantic orientations of words to capture the attitudes of the newspapers toward the game. It found that liberal papers regarded as negative to holding the Olympics do not consistently show negative attitudes toward the game. There was a clear difference in attitudes among newspapers only in sports articles after the Olympics began. This article is the first research on the relationship between the Japanese news media and the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

Abstract: We study tournaments where winning a rank-dependent prize requires passing a reserve---a minimum performance standard. Agents' performance is determined by effort and noise. For log-concave noise distributions the optimal reserve is at the modal performance, and the optimal prize scheme is winner-take-all. In contrast, for log-convex noise distributions the optimal reserve is at the lower bound of the distribution of performance, which is passed with probability one in equilibrium, and it is optimal to award equal prizes to all qualifying agents. These pay schemes are optimal in a general class of symmetric monotone contracts that may depend on cardinal performance.
